blue day..

somehow today's not been a good day..

got 4 or 5 blisters on my hand.. my thumb, first finger, middle finger and 2 on my palm.. haihz... was using a metal hock to help load FFB onto the lorry.. it was hot and friction = blisters.. i guess i was not made for kuli work.. lol...


during lunch, my ho went off.. screen was blank only the white lights.. but good thing when i got back home it was back on again.. but then its slightly faded colour.. my guess.. it wont last for long... looks like i'll have to get another phone soon... haihz.. need to spend more money...


today finally i tasted the durian from my house.. ady gave away the first few to workers n my dad.. smelled really good.. when i brought it back for my dad my car was filled with the smell although was placed in a tied up plastic bag... and today, i found out how good it was... it was like... wow... :) u would wished u had tasted it...


today fixed a petrol saving system in my car.. did not cost much but it was said to be able to save at least 40% fuel.. alright.. i'll give it a try.. provided it dont send my car into the workshop.. its only 1 year 7 months... i'll let u know if it works soon.. going back to kl tomorrow...

in my dreams

last few days somehow or another i have not been sleeping well.. been disturbed by messy (my dog), the hose that burst just outside my window and the worst one, dreams...


for the past 2-3 days, i've been always dreaming about snakes.. snakes in my estate house.. all over my sitting room and my room.. its like everytime i dream about it, i'll wake up ad look around to see if they r here..


as a psychology student and a so called sigmund freud enthusiast, i believe dream plays a big part in one's psychological pathology.. its actually signifies alot of things and can be a repressed issue by our conscious mind.. so after doing some search i came out with these findings..

living without handphone and money..

today, i found out that i somehow forgot to bring back my chargers from rawang.. this means my phone batt will be dead soon if i do not buy or borrow chargers... on top of that, after lending and dumping my money into a small business, my money is pretty much tied up.. thinking that my salary would be coming in anytime NOW, i was so wrong... had to get some sundry good and a charger so that i'l have a phone to use.. now i'm left with only 5 bucks.. haihz...


just pray hard that salary comes in tomorrow.. workers r bugging me for petrol n rice again... basically i'm cash poor but rich in liquidity.. haihz... whats the use of having money that u cant spend??..


but then all in all i believe in the concept of money earning money.. so i'll let those money work their way to more money... at the end of the day.. a fruitful harvest after a period of toiling..

not been blogging for few days n this is to fill it in...


1. GM's visit

basically he did not go crazy and blast all the assistants and managers this time round.. but then he did make quite alot of comments and areas to improve in. but basically more of the comments were for the other 2 assistants.. as for me.. i've got a check list here...

a. pruning (2 months dateline)
b. straighten owl barn (simple thing)
c. maintain grass cut (in progress)
d. fix bridge (this week)
e. appepipe - a parasite plant on the palm (to be done soon)
f. woodies (will be done as time does by)
g. cleaner lose fruit (need time to train harvesters and lose fruit collectors)
h. poison male palm (to be done soon)
i. complete bags for platform (in progress)
j. repair water retention drains
k. racking (after pruning is completed)
l. stacking (when i'm free enough to think of how i want to implement it)

its a long list.. but aint that difficult.. so i got to start working on it..



2. ACU 2

after reaching back to rawang on saturday night, it was a race against time to rehearse, prepare and polish up... after all the hussel and bussel, the time came when it was 8pm, 26th October 2008.. it all started.. the starting up was bit floppy but it got smoother after awhile..

as the emcee, i would not rate myself well coz honestly speaking... i was not well prepared.. plus have not been emcee-ing for sometime.. so yeah... stage fright is also part of me.. not today but actually everytime..

ppl's feedback... "excellent job... pls do it next year." my goodness.. they crazy ar??..!! do they know how much time n effort is being put into it.. ppl nowadays are lacking of few things..
- time
- money
- initiative

how u want us to do it again?? this time round was ady a struggle.. what more next time??..


3. skating on public holiday

woke up pretty late on monday.. about 12 i think.. took lunch, packed, laze around and it was about 2pm ady.. haihz... so started off to pyramid.. jam here, jam there.. so damn many ppl!!!

many people shopping, eating, skating and everything la.. the whole place was packed..

skated n skated, round n round.. was kind of sien.. good thing got to know few fellows.. one of them was rosemund (its a weird gal's name but it's hers'.. so i've got to live with it..) this gal, she's looks like probably 13 or 14.. but in fact she's 17... if u need to know how to stay young... u got to ask her...

then before resurfacing the ice ring, the hockey skaters are given a time to do some speeding.. so i went lor.. before speeding, one mabuk fellow skated right into my path.. i tired.. but could not avoid him.. "bang" both of us on the floor.. half my pants wet... then during speed skating, my leg cramp.. then i was again on the floor and ended up with a bang at the walls... now the other half of my pants is also wet... sad case... so after waiting for my pants to dry while skating around and not trying anything funny so i'll fall..

about 7+, got a drink n a dozen of jco.. then started my journey back.. reached home at about 11pm.. first thing i saw was my stand lamp from ikea... my dog tore it into pieces.. haihz... i've got a destroyer dog.. first 2 sets of shoes.. now, my lamp...what next??.. my car?

the increase in value..

finally the day has come.. its the opening ceremony of my new office..


basically the regional director, general manager, managers and assistants from about 15 estates came to grace this occasion.. it was a 140k project from turning an old club house into klk's most luxurious office..


as for me, i was pretty much worried about the landscaping coz some part was not completed due to rain the previous afternoon.. so i had to start work early.. got the workers to clear the place at 6.30 and finished at about 7.30..


when the rd and the guest arrived, the only thing that they had to say was "wow.. so beautiful". naturally the answer was "thank you" with a big fat grin on our faces.. basically i've never seen my manager so happy before.. the rd and gm commented well on the building, landscaping and the interior furnishing where it was summed up to name our office "the five star office".. looks like we'll be having frequent visitors and the spotlight as the model office in coming years..


as for me... its a +1


during the tea break. the rd and gm ask to talk to me in private. they wanted me to join in the recruitment drive approaching the chinese community in utar and tarc.. as its a chinese company, they believe that the chinese standards of work often best meet the requirements and ethics of the company. therefore, the company is pushing hard to recruit as many skilled and able chinese workforce into the company as they expand. my job basically is to convince these bunch of gonna be fresh grads that working in an estate is not as bad as they think and the benefits surpasses many other industries.. y not join us and build their future on something solid rather than going out in the world to spend half your life seeking for something that might not even earn enough for you.. as the assignment allows me to work closely with the HR department, top management people and of course our rd and gm, it enables me to have more interaction and opportunity to approach and impress them..


so thats another +1 for me :)


anyhow, hopefully this visit by the gm and rd will give me couple more +1 which will leave them with a good picture of me painted...


sad to say, today's field visit with the gm has been posponed to tomorrow... i wonder how many +1 and -1 will i get tomorrow.. haihz.... nervous.. but no matter what, this is my first gm visit.. so i'll make sure it's much better the next time he comes then it'll be +1 all the way... :)


just now, i went for dinner with chiew and another assistant from selbrone estate.. after that went for a foot massage which was initally suffering but now i feel my whole body relaxed and ready to sleep... lol.... eh... dun simply think... i went strictly for a foot massage ONLY.. lol....

gm's visit..

after attempting to prepare the place for the gm, he's finally here.. today's visit was generally for malay rompin (the division that i'm going to). he was very much impressed with the improvements and did not have much to comment.. my manager was also pretty happy that the gm was happy with the place..


after having a cup of tea at kopitiam, we headed back to our estate.. gm wanted to have a look at our young area as the rain had ady stopped. so we went over.. on the way there, we passed by one of my field.. the first thing he said was, you need to send in the hair dresser.. which basically means that my pruning was bad.. lol.. but no doubt it was bad.. coz i had not really focused on brushing up the pruning.. i was focusing on things i believe is more important.. fruit ripeness standards, woodies (wild plants) and circle spraying..


at the end of it, i promised gm that i'll have it improved in 2 months.. besides he also complained about alot of other things which is not part of my field.. so i care less.. :P he also said that he would prefer me to be transferred to rompin only in jan.. so looks like i'll have slightly more than 2 months to enjoy my bed before i leave.. lol... anyway, after we went to the immature area, my manager's face changed due to all the comments.. was definitely not happy.. i wonder what will happen after gm leaves.. lol... gonna be a big bomb..


so in short... i'll have to wait until tomorrow before i get the full list of comments.. where i'll post it here.. so i'll remember to do it... update it every month, see it's progress..


tomorrow's my office's opening ceremony + rspo meeting.. rspo gm and rd(regional director) coming.. haihz.. still got bit of landscaping to fix...

horrible hornet

this morning when i woke up, i noticed that i had no more working attire in my wardrobe.. so i had to go over to pick up my cloths from the backyard where i hang to dry. after putting on my pants, i felt a sudden sharp pain in my tight... knowing it was definitely a bug, i tried to shake it off.. a hornet dropped on the floor..



after the last experience of a hornet stinging my foot, it was bad enough.. this time round, my tight.. it was more than a week that my last sting took me to recover... its horribly painful and uncomfortable.. now, my tight is all swollen and i find it difficult to move my leg coz every move i make its painful.. hiahz... somehow this little bug has this much venom to create such suffering...



tomorrow's the day.. the day we've been preparing for.. GM's coming.. and i'm half limping.. wow.. how fun... regardless of what, life still goes on.. today had another cow chase... i wonder how long will my bike last me at the rate i'm going.. lol.. 6 months? 1 year? lol.... nvm.. company is paying for it.. :)


tomorrow's gonna be another busy day.. so i better get some rest and hope that my swell gets better quickly.. :)

the busy week..

the past week has been pretty busy.. mr. GM and mr. RD coming in few days.. been up to few projects to clear up my field so it looks good.. besides that, there's been also few other office beautification projects been handed to me.. so yeah.. been under scorching sun a lot this few days.. getting really tan.. haihz.. probably gonna turn into a negro soon.. lol...


anyway, one fine morning, when i opened the door of my house, i saw this... water ants... not one... but hundreds and thousands of them.. it was not only an eye sour.. but it was pretty much horrifying.. seeing these about 1- 1and half inch bugs crawling all over the floor... looking for a place to hide and create what we so know as a colony of ants... and ants are really horrible.. they are able to get into and onto every inch of ur house and they get to anything they pronounce as FOOD!!! these little pest are small in size but massive in numbers...

water ants are the mother of it.. the soon to be queen of the colony..







after shifting to the new office. i tot of making it a nicer place where i can relax, do my work when i have time off from the field.. so seeing that my manager and i like fishes and the sight of it.. so i decided to buy a small aquarium to place in my new room.. :) besides liking it, having initiative and being so called liked by manager is always an advantage for work, promotion and increment.. not to forget, bonuses.. :)


on top of that, my transfer letter is still in the hands of the GM where if he does not approve it, i'll not be going anywhere.. so yeah.. got to show him that i'm not only good in the field but also a tidy, responsible, trustworthy, bla, bla, bla... list goes on and on..


alright.. i know it sounds like i'm "polishing shoes" in cantonese "chat hai" but then face the fact that its life.. if you want to get promoted, have good comments, being the manager/GM's fav kid... YOU GOT TO MAKE THEM HAPPY!!!!


so this is my new aquarium.. aint the best but i only paid about 250 for it.. and its good enough for now...



my own office room.. big space, big table, nice aquarium and have the front view.. can see who's coming to the office.. :)




need to call it a day..


messy's been a real pain in the butt.. he's smelly, shits and pee everywhere, hyperactive and noisy..!! barks and wakes me up at night on some occasion..

crazy cow chase!!!

thanks to the head mandores, i was left with about 300 cows in my field. so whats with cows in my field?

1. basically there's not much harm caused except having shit everywhere and the fronds (palm leaves) getting pulled all over the place.

2. the GM is coming in less than a week and he will start screaming at the sight of cows coz out chairman says NO COWS!!!!

3. usually there's only a hand full of cows in my field coz they dont get as much food compared to when they are in the short palm area.


how did it come here?

1. those bloody mandores who took about 10 workers to chase the cows out of the short palm area did not complete their task which is to chase them OUT OF THE ESTATE!!!

2. those lazy + useless buggers wanted to play me out since they say i'm Mr. manager's blue eye boy... probably they r also blind coz i've got dark brown puples..



so the story goes on.. 300 cows, 1 idiotic assistant manager = mad cow chase!! chased, raved my motorcycle, sounded my horn, waved my stick and parang, shouting, running into and over drains and dranches, and throwing stones at cow's asses... slowly they moved along... man it was tiring and SCARY!! imagine you alone surrounded by 300 cows.. big, fat and scary ones.. hahaha...


sad to say, i was unable to chase out all the cows but only maybe slightly less than half.. the heard broke into 2 but i could not.. plus i could not keep them together coz they were running in different direction and was getting hard to control...


but regardless of what, it was still a success.. coz i idiotic assistant manager could chase out 100+ cows when 3 head mandore + 10 workers + 2 smart ass-istants could only chase out NINE cows... lol... hillarious....


probably need to go back to chase more cows tomorrow... haihz...

with a limp...

went to play football again today after a slightly more than 1 month break.. there will be a friendly match against jeram padang estate which will end up us trashing them coz they r that lousy..


but regardless of what, i injured myself during training today.. as a goalkeeper its normal to rush out at a ball that's pushed far forward be the dribbler.. as i attempted to stop the ball, the dribbler did a sliding tackle probably to try to lob the ball away from me but ended up piercing his studs into the upper part of my shin.. damn it was awfully painful..!!! but the game still had to go on..


i hobbled around not knowing that it would be that bad.. after reaching home and shower, i noticed a really big swell on my shin... at this moment, even bending my leg's painful.. haihz... now i'm walking around like a cacat fellow..

3. sleep late (coz if i dont sleep i'll walk around which causes it to hurt more)

the short weekend..

after work on saturday, went over to manager's house for open house before heading back to setapak for dinner with jun and kenneth at little tree cafe.. its small n cosy that serves i think is pretty good spaghetti.. drinks are so so only.. the mango smoothie is good so if u do pop by do give it a try.


anyway, although we did not stay for long but i guess its good to do some catching up with ppl that u've not seen for like 2 yrs... tracing back to how we met.. during my 1st yr 2 sem, i was studying in the block where all these little foundation kids were studying.. to be more specific foundation in science..


i was this dude who often would run to the corridor to get internet connection to log on my UTOPIA account.. someway or another, i got to know kenneth who then introduced me to jun who that time was not this pretty n was much chubbier.. thats how it started.. i think... :)


now jun is so pretty that she has her own fan club or something.. lol.. the question is y is everyone looking better n better while i now look like a malay??.. sad case...!! ppl say get dark more macho.. me?? haihz... nvm.. who cares...


after the dinner went straight to church for music practice then to Mcd for supper and try out the new Mcflurry mud pie.. was not too bad.. practically was just oreo with some chocolate inside.. then headed to ah lun's house for his baby's first bday.. i did not see the baby coz i reached there about 12.30am and got home near 2am...





sunday was another long day.. woke up early for church which had a baptism service.. i think it was 10 yrs ago since i had my baptism.. man, time flies and i'm really getting OLD..!!!

so after service, went with lim, sue and fion to deli france for lunch.. they had these sets which was quite worthwhile.. my seafood thingi was good.. very savory and tasty.. but the coffee sucked..


after lunch, i wanted to go for a skate at sunway before getting my hair cut coz its realy messy then... but then after some thinking, decided to go with these THREE FELLOW for a eagle eye at 1U.. so i went over to a salon recommended by lim to get my hair cut.. hmmm.. was not a good cut.. plus the gal said i looked like a malay... bloody hell!!! she did not need to remind me how i look.. lol... next time IF i go there i'll ask for jessie to cut my hair.. lim says she's good...


went to 1U, bought tickets, watched eagle eye which was pretty much similar concept with this terminator : the sarah dunno what chronicles where the AI (artificial intelligent) computer would over-ride their creators and attempt to do crazy stuff.. but all in all the actions and setails they featured made the movie one that i would rate 8 out of 10.. its a worth watch.. :)


after the movie headed to sake sushi for dinner which was crazy.. me and lim was like wacking all the available WASABI.. he was practically crying and we were laughing out asses off... after burning a small hole in out pockets, we decided to make the hole bigger by having desert at chilli's... if u dont know, chilli's has a really good desert.. its basically a chocolate cake with hot, rich, delicious, OMG chocolate in its core, topped with a scoop of ice cream and more chocolate!!! it completes your meal even if u did not have a main course..


sad to say, chilli's was full.. so plan B was activated..!!! paddington pancake!!! they serve damn good pancake at a not very good cost!!! so yeah.. go there if u want to pamper urself to some real pancakes.. if not.. cheapest alternative is always Mcd's cone!!! :)


so after that had to go back to rawang to pick up a VIP to send to hostel before balik-ing my estate.. reached home to find my house STINKING and in a total MESS!!! my sitting room was filled with shit and dog pee..!!! 2 of my shoes was like torn apart!!! my good-ness!!!! haihz..!!!!


i did not even wan to care to clean up all these shit coz i was too tired and it was ady 1am!!! WORK STARTS AT 6AM!!!! zzzZZZ....


this gave me the perfect name for the dog.....

D-day

today, everything went totally different from any ordinary day.. y so?


first thing in the morning, went to morning muster on a motorcycle with FLAT tyres..


at 9.30am, my manager brought me n the other assistants around the field to show us what needed to be done before the general manager comes for his new financial year visit on the 21st - 23rd of this month.. but it became a super mega bombardment when things went wrong... glad to say it was not my part.. so i just kept quiet.. as for my field, the manager did not comment much.. only some minor areas where only little attention would be needed...


so basically for the rest of this week n next week i'll be busy touching up things to make the field look nice..


for a very long time i had not actually taken an afternoon nap... but sadly, someone came over to my house n was honing his bloody hon causing me to wake up... bloody hell!!! after i woke up and talked to him, i forgot to close my door.. so remembering it i went to close it without my specs... on my way back to my room i noticed a long dark color thing on the floor but could not identify it.. after taking my specs i went to have a look again... WTF!!! it was a snake.. so i went to get my WAR GEAR and slaughtered it!!! its headless now!!! seee...



after throwing it away, i went back to sleep then woke up about 15 min later by my alarm signifying = TIME TO GO TO WORK!!!! again... so went to work, bla bla bla... came back.. then needed to go take my car which i send for repair...


left home at about 6.40p then reached there at about 7pm.. got my car n also took back a puppy who the shop owner said was ok for me to have it since they ady have so many dogs... it still has no name.. so any suggestion??

good news...

this morning when i came back for breakfast at my house, my maid told me that my durian tree is baring fruits... i know its not durian season but somehow this tree of mine finally is showing something good...


besides that, my nangka and mango trees are also producing fruits which soon be ripe and ready to be eaten.. :) i heard my durian tree produces really good durians.. :)



sad to say... i wont be here for long.. so wont be tasting much of it... but nvm.. once is better than none.. :)

actually there's so many things to blog about lately.. but somehow dont feeling like witting essay.. been pretty busy lately because of work.. not that there's more workload or anything but its more of the sense of belonging, responsibility and knowing that ur field/ estate aint the best in town... so after being imparted with more knowledge from the training and managing the estate along for a week.. its creeping up.. changing how things were to what it will be.. a better Ladang Ayer Hitam..



besides that out manager are pushing us to imporve out fields as the General Manager will be coming soon.. but i guess my field is alright.. not too bad.. at least its much much much better than when i just arrived..


another thing is that today during a meeting with all the staff, assistants and manager, our manager anounced that i'll be going to Malay Rompin to manager that division alone.. weee... but no formal letter have been recieved by me yet. so yeah.. i dont have long here too..


thing i need to do..
1. save up to dig a new pond in my new house
2. prepare a good field to be hand over to the person who will be taking over it
3. plan how an i suppose to continue my little business (if i want to)
4. go look for aquariums for new house
5. save up for curtains for new house
6. prepare myself for much higher challenge = acquire more knowledge + experience
7. enjoy myself before i go into solitary.. hahahaha...



sounds bad.. but it aint that bad la.. currently i'm having the same feeling when i was offered this job.. maybe about 2 weeks before starting the job... excited, afraid, stressed (not really but i guess its it), looking forward to it yet uncertain if able to cope up..

ending the week..

finally the end of the week.. but tomorrow's another working day for me.. but its not a busy day at least.. only evacuation and dispatching of crop, some harvesting and some pruning to be done. i guess i'll go trim some of the trees in the new office myself so keep myself occupied..



the week has been tiring, stressful yet interesting.. learned alot.. basically did what 3 assistants do plus minus here and there.. basically running around more than 2000 hectares of plantation land for the past few days... could hardly even stop to breath as work was going on everywhere.. making like 7-9 different point check few times in a day..



anyway, life still goes on.. working life is about challenges and how we move out butts to adjust and make whats best :) if we run from problems everyday, one day problems will come from all 6 ways and smash u into pieces.. so whats there to gain from it.. facing a single problem at a time will hell make life easier for u, me, everyone.. coz when too many problems come at once, it feels like shit and shit aint gonna help u with anything.. so buggers!!!
